Transport

Many of our learners travel to school by bus. In the morning, buses will drop learners off at the bus bays in front of the sports centre which is on the shared campus. In the afternoon, buses will collect pupils from either the sports centre or from Ysgol Maes Garmon’s school yard.

When a learner starts school they will be issued with a bus pass which must be shown to the driver every morning and afternoon. Parents must apply for a bus pass for their child before they start school in year 7. Forms will be given to pupils as part of their transition information pack.

It’s imperative that learners behave responsibly when travelling on the school bus, including wearing a seat belt. The Welsh Government’s website contains information about the Travel Behaviour Code.

Occasionally, a bus may be late or obstructed from reaching the bus stops in time. It’s important for parents and carers to discuss a course of action for their child to take in case a school bus doesn’t collect them for school.

The school is not responsible for school transport. Any questions should be directed to the Flintshire School Transport Department on 01352 752121.
